Raising Awareness
The awareness program offers a variety of outreach activities to inform the public about issues related to large carnivores and, more broadly, the coexistence of wildlife and human activities.
Harmonious coexistence between wildlife and human activities requires a better understanding of the issues involved.
The awareness program aims to make these issues accessible to a broad audience from all walks of life, without political, social, or cultural barriers. The program also seeks to provide food for thought on the complex topic of coexistence in a shared territory.
The activities offered are varied and designed for the general public—both adults and children—who wish to better understand these issues.

School Workshops
Wolves and Us—How Can We Live Together?
In collaboration with the cantons of Vaud and Neuchâtel, OPPAL has developed an educational workshop designed for schools and presented to 7H and 8H classes (students aged 10 to 12). The workshop, which is conducted in the classroom, is available to all schools in French-speaking Switzerland.
The goal of this workshop is to help young participants understand the main challenges of coexisting with large carnivores in a shared territory, while incorporating the learning objectives of the PER (Romandy Curriculum) into the proposed activities.
Through a variety of immersive activities, students discover the perspectives of the various stakeholders involved in developing a sustainable strategy for coexistence and learn to see where they fit in among them. In schools in the cantons of Vaud and Neuchâtel, a limited number of workshops may be subsidized each year by their respective cantons.

Educational Workshops
OPPAL offers customized workshops tailored to specific needs—for adults or children—upon request.
Our team travels throughout French-speaking Switzerland and organizes awareness-raising events for adults, activities at festivals, and workshops in the great outdoors.
Activities can take place indoors or outdoors, and their duration can be tailored to the budget, the time available, the size of the group, and the specific needs expressed.

Conferences, exhibitions, and booths
OPPAL participates in various awareness-raising projects throughout the year.
Upon request, our team participates in conferences for adults, temporary or permanent exhibitions, and operates booths at festivals, sporting events, and open houses.
These presentations provide an opportunity to showcase OPPAL’s activities and spark interest among an audience that may not be very familiar with the challenges of coexistence between human activities and large carnivores.
